Methodology
L’atelier literally means “studio” in French, but for us the term recalls the generative process among creative collaborators engaged in the research, conceptualization and production of a work of art. Each our project develops through an artistic, intellectual and cultural investigation that builds the capacity and understanding of the collaborators.
L’Atelier Arts methodology includes on six areas of focus:
Institutional: To foster innovation, collaboration and increased support between cultural institutions and professional artists.
Content: To creatively engage with contemporary culture and derive meaning and vitality to engage a wider audience in cutting edge new works.
Process: To promote and sustain creative collaboration between professional artists throughout the research, development and production of a new work.
Aesthetic: To reach beyond text-centered theatre by integrating design, architecture, movement, music, and emerging technology into the generative process.
Community: To create a diverse, inclusive and aesthetically adventurous cultural community.
Education: To use the research, creation and performance process as the basis for unique learning experiences.
